In keeping with the traditions of SCA rapier combatants, many of us have taken to wearing a bronze or gold colored scarf tied to the left shoulder or around the left arm.

A symbol of Medieval authority still used by some European orders, each member of our Order has been given one of these as token of membership. At least one Warder is working on attaching it to the gorget he uses in combat.
What started as a gift from Don Mikhail of Trimaris of his white scarf to adorn a banner that did not exist led Warder Andrew Blackwood MacBaine the Purple, THL Sorcha O'Brannigain and their Household, Die fechtenden Naehenfroesche, towards a fit of madness and inspiration in creating the Midrealm award banners. Don Mikhail's scarf was folded into shape to create the crossed swords of the device of the Bronze Ring.
